As a Guru Purnima seva offering, AYUDH Toronto has set up a verified fundraiser through True North Aid to support First Nation families impacted by the severe Northern Ontario wildfires. Due to severe, fast-moving wildfires across Northern Ontario, hundreds of residents from remote First Nation communities, including Collins First Nation, have been forced to evacuate their homes on short notice. Many families had to leave with only minutes to pack basic belongings. Other communities, like Neskantaga First Nation, were forced to evacuate because the fires cut off their supply of food and other essentials. AYUDH Toronto is coming together as a community to raise urgent relief funds to support these displaced families during this critical time.
Why We Are Raising Funds via True North Aid
To ensure our help reaches those in immediate need safely and efficiently, all funds raised through this campaign go directly to True North Aid, a registered Canadian charity providing practical humanitarian assistance to northern Indigenous communities.
Your donations will directly fund:
- Essential baby care supplies (formula, diapers, specialized care)
- Basic clothing, footwear, and personal hygiene essentials
- Direct logistical and emergency support requested by community leadership on the ground
